I am a Londoner that’s moved to Cape Town with my South African / Polish wife, where we’ve started our own business selling South East Asian shiny things.

In my spare time (weekends and days off from working at the shop) I like taking pictures of things.

Since about 2004 I’ve been actively trying to take good pictures.

At the start of 2005 I scored a Canon EOS 300D Digital with the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens, which I’m still rocking now.

I carry it with me pretty much everywhere, and most of my pictures are taken with it.

In January 2007 I got a Holga, and I’m really enjoying playing with medium format film.

I live mostly at maxbarners.com but also post my stuff at flickr, deviantart and (occasionally) at jpg mag where I look for inspiration from photographers who are Actually Good TM.

Max Barners is just my stage name.
